John Eberhard Electronic Press Kit

Bio

John Eberhard is releasing a CD of original music, “One Lifetime is Not Enough,” along with releasing the first single entitled “Home Tonight” on streaming services on September 8, 2023.

John does all the vocals on the CD, and plays all instruments (keyboards, drums), except for solos. Featured soloists on the CD include world-famous saxophonist Eric Marienthal, world-famous guitarist Frank Gambale, as well as musicians Mitch Talevi (guitar), Larry Williams (guitar), Rex Perry (synthesizer), and Kurt Belshaw (guitar).

The CD’s 12 songs are pop-rock with a heavy jazz influence, similar to Steely Dan, Michael Franks, Sting, Al Jarreau, Blood Sweat and Tears, and Chicago.

John grew up in the Midwest, attended Berklee College of Music, and has played drums and sung in bands throughout Ohio, New England, and southern California.

Asked why he waited until late in his career to release a CD of original music, John stated “After attending Berklee and majoring in arranging and composition, I was able to write music pretty much right away. But writing lyrics was another matter. I struggled with that for years but, for whatever reason, I felt like I was finally able to write lyrics that I was happy with in the last few years. Perhaps more life experience made that easier. Then when COVID hit, I had some extra time on my hands and started putting the CD together. My goal has been to have compelling music, compelling lyrics that tell a story, and a pro level production. I hope that I can expose a lot of people to this music, and that they’ll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.”

Reviews

John, I’m so happy you thought of me and sent me your songs to have a listen. I think you’ve done a wonderful job of writing, singing, playing, and producing these lovely songs. Although I really liked them all, I especially enjoyed the sax treatment on “As One”. Well done and keep up the good work.

John, this is some awesome stuff! Great messages, fresh changes and arrangements, killer solos. How long have you been creating on this?

Art is the reflection of the artist. The work (of Art) resonates in the viewer/listener inspiring their participation and own creation; and so it goes. In listening to this album I am newly inspired by transitions, harmonies and forms I would not have thought of. But again these seem familiar and resonate within me. These are interesting compositions artfully crafted. I am sure you will find it so.
